This is a major concern today. There are many physicians and endocrinologists who say, if women live long enough now, it’s likely that, at some point in their long life, they’ll contract a thyroid disorder.
This is generally coming from the amount of poisons, toxins and heavy metals that are in our environment today. They’re not only in what we drink, eat and breathe, but we’ve gone as far as putting environmental toxins in our clothing. We wear those clothes in close proximity to or directly on the skin. That allows it to absorb.
All of these points become environmental estrogens, eco-estrogens. That puts an inordinate taxation on all the glands of the body and clearing the thyroid gland.
If one is attempting to prevent thyroid disease, you must nourish the thyroid. You must make sure that you have enough iodine when the thyroid is still healthy. The lack of iodine is the number-one reason why thyroid concerns are so phenomenally large today.
The other thing I must say about the thyroid is that the chemicals we take into our body take the iodine out of the glandular system. The iodine literally bonds to the different chemicals. That is why it assaults the thyroid when it doesn’t have adequate amounts. This causes Hashimoto and other forms of disease.
There is a time when somebody has major thyroid concerns that medical intervention is necessary. Each case is individual. Most allopathic doctors, first and foremost, tell you to get on a pharmaceutical medicine, like Synthroid.
The more conscious ones, barring the fact that this is not vegan or vegetarian, suggest Armour Thyroid or Nature-Throid. There are cases where an herbal medicine or no medicine and lifestyle and diet can help to regulate the thyroid.
