Improve Eyesight

The next question is on eyesight, directly about bilberry. Bilberry is an herb that has some good effect on circulatory activity in the eye area. Better than that is lutein.

Lutein is very easily found in such things as watermelon seeds. The best way to get the lutein out of them is to take those dried watermelon seeds, either after you dry them yourself or after you buy the organic ones, and grow them into greens that have a very similar protein profile to sunflower green sprouts. That is, by far, the number one eye effective nutrient.

You can also get supplements. If you can find a whole food source of these supplements, you can buy them and use them in combination. Look up on the internet and in health books other lesser lutein-rich foods.

Number two, certainly as we age, we get decreased circulation or blood flow up to the head. I strongly suggest for everyone, whether you’re 15 years old or 100 years old, that you get on a slant board or at least you put your head back. If you have a good back, you can lay off of a couch with your head down close to the ground on a pillow.

Do that for 10 to 15 minutes a day, getting the blood flow up there. That’s important. Glaucoma and a lot of eye problems are caused because of a cutoff of blood flow to that area. The pressure that builds up is caused by that.

Next, and probably most importantly, has little to nothing to do with bilberry, lutein or getting blood to your head. It’s called the Bates  Method. You can all globally, and in most languages, get Dr. Bates’ book, The Bates Method for Better Eyesight Without Glasses.

Dr. Bates was a medical doctor who was discouraged when he was losing eyesight. He started to realize that all of us in modern times, although this was in the 1930s, tend to read more and focus in one direction. We’re not using our eyes as our ancestors always did, looking in every direction constantly to hear what’s going on.

When they would walk in nature, they would look and think, “What’s that sound? Let’s look down at the mud. Is the sky clear, or is it raining today?” Their eyes were constantly wandering.

Think about how your eyes work today.

Most of you sit and look at a computer all day, even listening to me. A lot of you watch television beyond that. Some of you are prolific readers. That’s all straight-on stuff.

The new high-definition, digital TVs cause havoc to brain waves. That’s a whole other question that nobody has asked yet.

Let's look at the Bates Eye Method. My father-in-law is the best example of this. He now is in his early 80s. When he was in his 40s, he started to need reading glasses like a lot of you out there listening.

He is a very macho-type of guy, living in Sweden on the Baltic Sea. He wore the reading glasses for about a week. He then broke them in half in his very strong hands and squashed them with his feet.

He got the Bates Eye Method. Now in his early 80s, he reads sometimes up to several hours a day. He also does those exercises so his eyes will wander the way our ancestors’ eyes always wandered.

You need the Bates Eye Method, nutrients and blood flow to the head. As you get older, that will help you prevent a lot of these eye diseases. If you have them, it will also help you.
