What can be taken for depression or ADD in adults?
 
In my book, Longevity, I talk about this particular subject. A lot of adults were never told about ADD. We didn't really know much about it in medicine in those days. What has resulted from that is depression.
 
There are certain proteins that can be used very effectively. One is GABA protein. You can get it at your local health store. There's no bad form of GABA protein.
 
Proteins are proteins, unlike living whole food supplements. We don't have to be exclusive and worry about them. A protein like this is going to be effective in any case.
 
I would strongly suggest that you start with 50 milligrams. If that's not quite enough, take 100 milligrams. You could literally take 1,000 milligrams of this, not that you'd ever need to. It's not going to hurt you. GABA protein is important.
 
I'm not a fan of it because it's a chemical supplement, but short term use of SAM-e has also proven to be very effective.
 
The most effective thing in our arsenal for depression and Attention Deficit Disorder is Phycomin. It's a phytonutrient algae extract. This particular algae extract successfully goes through the blood-brain barrier, the little ventricles that lead up to the brain. It helps to shut off the switches of unhappiness and depression.
 
Attention Deficit Disorder, in great part, comes from the lack of healthy essential fatty acids in the brain itself. The structural part of the brain, the one that looks like a cauliflower, is actually an essential fatty acid. You can only find the type of essential fatty acid the brain is made of in one place. That is in blue-green algae. That's what that Phycomin extract is from.
 
In some part, not in total, you'll get it from sprouted hemp. We can't do that here in puritan countries like America. You can in Britain, Ireland and in other, more civilized places in the world.
 
I would strongly suggest that you read Dr. Amen's book. He's hands down the leading authority in the world on Attention Deficit Disorder. He's done the work.
 
Everyone has a theory and sells books. His work has shown, after thousands of studies of MRIs of the brain, Attention Deficit Disorder is really six different diseases that are under this umbrella of ADD.
 

The book is going to give you some great insight on what to do. Of course, clean up your diet and exercise. Aerobic exercise is a powerful agent in reduction of depression. That's due to the fact that it activates endorphins. Equally important to me is getting the circulatory activity to bring blood flow to the upper body and the brain itself, so a lot of this can be corrected on a structural basis.
